Terms of use

Last updated: 22 September 2026

By creating an account on The Pitlane, you accept the terms below. They are written to be read: if anything is unclear, write to [email protected].

The Pitlane is in no way affiliated with, associated with, authorised by, endorsed by or officially connected to Formula 1, the FIA, Formula One World Championship Limited, Formula One Licensing BV, Liberty Media, or any team, driver or Grand Prix promoter.

F1®, FORMULA 1®, FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP®, GRAND PRIX® and related marks belong to Formula One Licensing BV. Team and driver names belong to their respective holders. They are used here solely to name the sport and the competitions the predictions are about — a descriptive use, claiming no right over those marks.

The Pitlane is a personal, independent project built by a motorsport enthusiast.

What the service is

The Pitlane is a free prediction game. You stake fictional points on the outcome of Grands Prix, take on your friends in private leagues and follow a season-long table.

It is not gambling

This deserves saying plainly, because the language of betting can mislead:

The service is therefore not gambling, and requires no licence from the French gaming authority.

Your account

What is not allowed

An account breaking these rules may be suspended or deleted, without notice where the breach affects other players.

Availability and accuracy

The service is provided “as is”. It runs on personal infrastructure: outages, slowness or data loss remain possible, and no availability is guaranteed.

Sporting results, timings, grids and weather come from third-party public sources. They may be wrong, incomplete or late. Where they differ, the FIA's official results prevail, and a points calculation may be corrected after the fact.

To the extent permitted by law, the publisher cannot be held liable for any loss arising from use of the service, its unavailability or inaccurate data.

Your data

How your personal data is handled is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time. What happens to your data is set out in the privacy policy.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top of the page gives the last revision; a substantial change is announced in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought before any legal action.
